First comment is to always begin a solution with 'a few steps' rather than a whole bunch.  The simply solution is typically much clearer and as additional detail is actually useful then use the 'Options' tab. 

It would appear to me that the 3rd step is the best way to explore and the attached image shows the provided logic.
