when I replug this solution in to the equation it doesn't come out correct

t = 11/4 is the solution for the equation '8t-6t-1/2=5'
Lets plug 't=11/4' into '8t-6t-1/2=5'
8*(11/4)-6*(11/4)-1/2=5
22 - 33/2 - 1/2 = 5
22 - (33 + 1)/2 = 5
22 - 34/2 = 5
22 - 17 = 5
5 = 5
The solution is correct.
