I just don’t get it - I add line to graph and get wrong every time

Answer provided by our tutors

You have typed in an inequality:

4x+2y>-8

We solve for 'y':

4x+2y>-8

Add '-4x' to both sides of the inequality

2y > - 8 - 4x

Divide both sides by '2'

y > -8/2 - 4x/2

y > -4 - 2x

The above inequality '4x+2y>-8' was transformed to:

y > -2x - 4

So, graphing '4x+2y>-8' is the same as graphing 'y > -2x - 4'
