how to know how to do algebra in math

I am in urgent need of help in completing a homework in how to know how to do algebra in math. I need to submit it by next week and am having a tough time trying to figure out a couple of tricky problems. I tried some of the online help sites but have not gotten much help so far. I would be really glad if anyone can assist me.

I remember having difficulties with interval notation, graphing lines and multiplying matrices. Algebrator is a really great piece of algebra software. I have used it through several algebra classes - Pre Algebra, Basic Math and Remedial Algebra. I would simply type in the problem from a workbook and by clicking on Solve, step by step solution would appear. The program is highly recommended.
