I really do not want to opt for the guidance of private tutors and web tutoring since they prove to be quite pricey. Could you recommend a perfect tutoring tool that can guide me with learning the intricacies of Remedial Algebra. In particular, I need help on difference of cubes and hypotenuse-leg similarity.

Algebrator helped me and my classmates a lot during our exam time. We went on to get more marks than we could ever have thought of. It explains things in a lot more detailed manner, than a teacher ever could, in a class. Moreover, you can read one solution over and over again till you actually understand it, unlike in a classroom where the teacher has to move on due to time constraints. Go ahead and try it.

There are some demos available to see if it is really what want and if you find it useful, you can get a licensed version for a nominal amount.
